About Us I, Kim Bell, grew up fishing on the Alsea river 9 miles East of Waldport, OR. We always were trying to beat the family record of a 55lb. Chinook caught by my grandfather, Kenny Graham. Todd and I with our two kids like to fish on the Alsea as much as possible. I especially love to share my childhood memories fishing every year since I was 2 years old. Our family had a cabin there for over 45 years. Todd has always had a passion for boats. He first started restoring antique wooden boats i.e. Chris Craft and Tally Craft. Todd graduated from DIT (Diver's Institute of Technology) in 1992 and left with an honors degree of being the top 2 under water welders in his class. He used to dive down 200 ft. and weld in complete darkness. Todd is still very innovative, creative, and a well skilled welder. Todd started working at Fishcraft in 2001. He realized even more how he wanted to build boats and make a company for himself. He set out to do so in March 2003. I have always had a vision of owning and operating a company, and managing an office. I have an Administrative degree in business and started working in an office answering phones at 5 years old for my dad who owned a Farmer's Insurance Agency in Brownsville, OR. Todd and I were very excited to start Smith Rock Riverboats, Inc. Del Erlandson, founder of Fishcraft contacted Todd in August of 2006 to see if there was any interest in purchasing Fishcraft. Del was just too busy with another successful business that he owns; to give Fishcraft the time it deserved to grow into an even more successful company. Del knew Todd's passion for boats and it just made sense to him to offer it to Todd. We became the owners of Fishcraft the next month. We are very excited to now own and operate Fishcraft and Smith Rock Riverboats, Inc. Our companies have now become one in The Riverman Boatworks manufactures of both lines of driftboats.
